Sponsors of Newcastle Racing

Proud Sponsors of Newcastle Racing

Newcastle Racing, a team of engineering students at Newcastle University, are currently designing an advanced racing car, the NR11. A professional driver will race the car at Silverstone in July for Formula Student (FS), the world’s largest student engineering design competition with entries from around the world. FS showcases the best and brightest mechanical engineering talent, with graduates regularly filling roles in top automotive and motorsport organisations, including F1 teams.

For the Newcastle Racing team members, NR11 is the exciting culmination of a five-year degree programme. Supporting the project are a number of sponsors, including Axminster Tools & Machinery, the Reece Foundation and Quickgrind Carbide Tooling. The Newcastle team wanted to thank and promote those who have contributed to the design and building of NR11 and enlisted the help of Industrial Textiles & Plastics (ITP) of North Yorkshire to produce a large banner.

“ITP provided suggestions and improvements that really helped bring out the best in our designs for use at that scale and printed on their Powerclad material. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and are proudly hanging it in our workshop. We’ll be taking it to the Formula Student competition at Silverstone in July, where the banner will display our sponsors’ logos to hundreds of students, industry professionals and companies. We’ve sent this photograph of our team with the banner to our sponsors, who’ve commented on how professional it looks as well as distributing it in their own company newsletters.”

ITP’s in-house design and print facility allows the manufacturers to provide custom branding for its extensive range of Powerclad scaffold sheeting, temporary containment materials and perimeter fence covers.
